“I believe the Word is like water — when you drink it, it replenishes you.”
Cecil White Jr.
Cecil White Jr. was born in Buffalo, New York, and found his voice early. Influenced by his grandfather and shaped by a lifetime of listening, he started out where he felt most natural — supporting from the background. For years he was the steady presence behind the spotlight, singing harmonies and helping elevate other artists and ensembles.
“A background vocalist who learned to lead: grounded, soulful, and focused on meaning over noise.”
Over time, Cecil’s creative drive expanded beyond vocals. After experiencing the frustration of depending on musicians who didn’t always show up prepared or on time, he decided to remove the barriers between the idea and the performance — learning to play so he could carry his own sound from start to finish.
Long before recording sessions and arrangements, Cecil wrote poems as a young man — early snapshots of the kind of honesty and detail that now show up in his songwriting. Those pages became the foundation for music that blends lived experience with intention, turning stories into melodies and reflection into groove.
After years of supporting others, Cecil made a decision to build something of his own — music that reflects who he is, where he’s been, and what he still believes is possible.
